Oh My Gosh, after two months of hard work, I finally finished my own macaw!!! :D:D:D:D
I did it totally myself, just by looking through many many real macaw pictures, and I also watched some vids on youtube.
This was a real challenge to me, to get it right.. And So I am really proud of myself, that I actually could make this. When I started with 3DO I never thought this was possible to make with just paper!!

I hope you all like it!
And I know now, what you can do with 3DO, I learned a lot!! So You can expect more from me in the future! next project will live into the sea ;)

[edit] My First DD ever!! thank you so much for the support everyone!! :D [/edit]

this one is made out of paper origami modules, which I varnished afterwards :)
The legs are made of wire

3D Origami Scarlet Macaw by *Daantjuh-3DO is one of the best examples of modular origami around, it was made with enough pieces to create realistic curves and detail. ( Suggested by *sombra33 and Featured by ^Talty )

This is a masterpiece! I love this. This is by far the best 3D origami I have ever seen. I have to say, when I saw the picture, I thought it was a real bird and I was like, "Why would they put a picture of a bird under paper crafts?" Then I clicked the picture and I just got blown away.
There is just one thing. The red lines under the eyes. Is that paper of is that marker? If it is marker, maybe make it a bit bolder so that it doesnt look like a mistake.
But that is just a mere suggestion. This is beautiful and you are amazing. Keep up the good work!!

First of all I must say you balanced it out very nicely on 2 feel and the pose in which you shot it is awesome and couldn't be better chosen.

The only thing I can't figure out yet are the red lines around the eye that look like drawn or painted on. It kind of disturbs the picture in my eyes.

All in all I just love it! My favourite 3D Origami art so far. Actually this picture was the reason I started doing this whole Origami thing. It inspired me and I am sure it will inspire people some more! Keep up the awesome work!
